running beside the highway
the wires are alive with human souls
touching
and I
at forty three
after the sunset again
drop a dime
and suddenly you
someone young
someone new
is there
at the other end of the line
and I can feel myself
emptying into your presence
after the initial "Hello."
you don't have to speak
it is enough
just listening to the space where you are
being together
and alone at the same time
or talk about the weather
or what ever
it doesn't matter as long as I know
we are connected
and I can tell the difference
between dream and reality
and sometimes
out there in a glass box
they are the same |
