....Recently Jerraldine has been focusing on finding ways to help herself and others heal through different kinds of ceremonies. Weddings, Cronings, Sageings
....She has been ordained by Universal Ministries and is now doing “Joining Ceremonies” near her home along the Big Sur coast, following in her father Ric Masten’s footsteps . She begins each wedding with a sageing, a way of clearing any negative energy and uses an Indian blanket in the ceremony. She asks each couple to put a cymbal representing the couples relationship upon it . If the marriage does not last they must promise to come back to her together and cut the threads. She calls upon the old ones to witness. Asking all our relations that have passed before us to bless the union. She honors the four directions and earth and sky. Her desire is to join people together in love and mutual respect — to celebrate life and to honor the earth.
....What Jerri hopes to achieve in each ceremony , piece of art, and in life its self, is a sublime reconciliation of diverse cultural and natural elements. Or, simply put, to “walk well upon the earth, and leave behind things that will stay alive in the world.”
